School Refusal + Re-entering the school setting:
Our School Readiness & Re-engagement Program has been developed for children and young people who are experiencing difficulties attending school due to anxiety, emotional wellbeing concerns, or other barriers to engagement.
The program provides a safe, supportive, and structured environment where participants can gradually rebuild confidence, develop positive routines, and reconnect with learning. Each session combines therapeutic support with educational tutoring, helping students maintain and build their academic skills while working towards a successful return to the classroom.
Participants will also have opportunities to develop social skills, emotional regulation, resilience, problem-solving abilities, and confidence through engaging activities and small-group interaction. With groups limited to approximately four participants, each child receives personalised support while benefiting from positive peer relationships.
The program will run on Thursday and Friday mornings from our clinic and will be facilitated by experienced professionals who understand the challenges associated with school refusal. We work collaboratively with families and, where appropriate, schools to develop an individualised pathway back to education.
Whether your child has recently stopped attending school, is struggling with regular attendance, or requires additional support before returning to the classroom, this program aims to provide the encouragement, structure, and academic assistance needed to help them re-engage with learning and build confidence for a successful transition back to school.
